Committee: Central Section

Mission Statement

The mission of the APA California Chapter, including its Central Section, is to bring together Californians to forge a better future.

Towards that end Central Section members will:

1. Provide vision and leadership that fosters better planning for California;

2. Build public and political support for sound planning; and

3. Provide its members with the tools, services and support that advance the art and science of planning.

We shall continuously work to accomplish this through providing opportunities for advocacy, networking, outreach and professional development.  Join hundreds of other planners in the state who are committed to building strong, vibrant communities.

Message from the Director

It has been my desire for many years to serve our membership as Section Director.  I look forward to serving the members of the Central Section and appreciate your support in the election. Thank you for your confidence.

I believe in the American Planning Association and the good it does for our profession. I am a firm supporter of the Central Section and the American Planning Association California Chapter and a true advocate in what planning can do for our society, environment, and state. I believe that a strong, unified leadership is necessary to provide beneficial services to our membership.

I have enjoyed and benefited greatly from being a member of the American Planning Association. I believe that our professional organization is a way to reach, involve and create opportunities for planners in the Central Valley, to share ideas to enhance our profession and build better communities. My focus is to continue our campaign for growth in activity and membership support.

At the APA California Chapter - Central Section, the members always comes first!
